Doors Open in Central Square!

On Monday, August 26th, First Priority Credit Union proudly celebrated the grand opening of our third branch, located in the heart of East Boston’s Central Square. Following a soft opening on August 21, the official ribbon-cutting ceremony brought together community leaders, partners, and long-time supporters who share our commitment to strengthening the East Boston community.

We were especially honored to receive a State Citation of Recognition, presented to us by Roberto Gomez on behalf of State Representative Adrian Madaro’s office. We also welcomed Gabriela Ramirez, Chief of Staff to Boston City Councilor Gabriela “Gigi” Colletta Zapata, whose presence reinforced the importance of collaboration between local leaders and community institutions.

Isa Tise Wals, team member at Eastie Farm—a nonprofit championing sustainability and food justice—joined us to celebrate the role of community-based partnerships in driving meaningful change. We were also delighted to be joined by long-standing community member Frank Baker; Estevan Puerta, Communications Director at Excel Academy Charter Schools, who spoke to the critical importance of financial education for future generations; Ethan Vogt, Executive Director of East Boston Main Streets, who emphasized the alignment between our mission and the revitalization of Central Square; and John Sosa, board member of the East Boston Chamber of Commerce, who continues to champion growth and opportunity for East Boston businesses.

Our new East Boston branch is designed to be more than just a banking location—it is a hub for service, support, and financial empowerment. Members can expect a full suite of services, from personal and business banking to lending, credit solutions, and youth-focused financial education programs. In addition, the branch reflects our commitment to accessibility and convenience, ensuring that more members of the East Boston community can benefit from the personalized service, transparency, and care that FPCU is known for.

The opening of this branch is a direct reflection of our mission to provide safe, reliable, and member-centered financial services that uplift and empower the communities we serve. Our vision has always been to strengthen relationships, foster financial literacy, and be a trusted partner in helping individuals and families reach their goals.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our guests, our dedicated board and team members, and to the East Boston community for welcoming us so warmly into Central Square. Together, we look forward to building a future where financial opportunities are accessible to all and where community partnerships drive meaningful progress.
