Backpacks, BBQ & Community!

On Tuesday, August 27th, First Priority Credit Union proudly participated in the Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway and Community BBQ in Charlestown, an annual event organized by the Boston Housing Authority and the City of Boston. This celebration brought together families, local leaders, and community organizations to help students and parents feel prepared and supported as they head into the new school year.

The event featured music, food, and a fun, welcoming atmosphere for families in the neighborhood. Boston City Councilor Gigi Coletta’s team was in attendance, along with the Boston Public Schools Community Engagement team, whose dedication to connecting families with resources made the day especially meaningful. Together, these partners helped ensure that students not only walked away with supplies, but also with encouragement and support from their community.

As part of our contribution, FPCU donated backpacks filled with essentials to ensure that children have the tools they need to start the school year on the right foot. Supporting local students is at the heart of our mission—because we believe that when young learners have the resources and confidence to succeed, our entire community thrives.

FPCU is proud to partner with organizations across Boston that share this vision, and we look forward to continuing to support programs that make a lasting impact for families and students.
