Community Connections

For over 100 years First Priority Credit Union has been proud to support local organizations whose tireless efforts provide benefit and support for so many. We are grateful for the opportunity to participate and help strengthen the bonds within our communities. Here are just a few of the events we’ve been lucky enough to support or host!

FPCU’s CEO Tony Paciulli, Chairwoman Aisha Milbury Ellis, Molly Roark, and Michelle Alger of Marcum LLP gathered at HYM’s headquarters to celebrate the achievements of the Veronica Robles Cultural Center (VROCC) and its impactful programs in art, dance, youth entrepreneurship, and cultural education. The evening was filled with heartfelt testimonials from those positively influenced by VROCC, highlighting its significant contributions to the community, and everyone expressed excitement for its future growth and success!

We were thrilled to stand alongside State Representative Adrian Madaro in his mission to uplift the vibrant community of East Boston and champion the greater good of Massachusetts! It was a heartwarming gathering filled with passionate neighbors and dedicated business owners, showcasing the strength of our collective spirit. Let’s continue to connect, engage, and make a positive impact together!

First Priority’s Fatima Jawhari, Maria Noriega and Joe Cavanaugh, joined Mike Triant to support the Salesian Boy’s and Girl’s Club 6th Swing FORE Kids Classic at the Winthrop Golf Club this past Monday. It’s great to see our communities rally for such amazing programs such as Boys and Girls Club. Make sure to look out for their next event!

FPCU was thrilled to participate in the East Boston Social Center’s Piers Park Picnic!
We were lucky for beautiful weather so we could meet so many people from East Boston and surrounding communities – between free yoga classes and bingo, the fun was endless! Thank you for hosting East Boston Social Center!

Having the opportunity to connect with such visionary leaders from Veronica Robles Cultural Center (VROCC) has truly inspired our team! Veronica and Karina’s passion for community enrichment and their unwavering commitment to fostering growth within East Boston and the surrounding neighborhoods are nothing short of remarkable. As we brainstormed potential initiatives, it became clear that we share a common goal: to uplift our community and create lasting positive change.

Our entire FPCU team and Board of Directors had an amazing opportunity to get to know some of our valued Members, referrals and business partners this past Wednesday at The Marina at The Wharf.

“First Priority Credit Union’s Vice President and Lending Manager, Steve Borgerson (third from the left) is seen here presenting First Time Home Buyer Safi S. (second from the left) with a check for $30,806 which was used for down payment and closing cost assistance for the purchase of his new condo in Winthrop. First Priority Credit Union was able to secure the down payment assistance grant through the Credit Union’s Partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston. The FHLBB’s Equity Builder Program provides grant funds to assist qualified First Time Home Buyers with the purchase of a primary residence. Safi was the second credit union member that they able to secure grant funds for. Said Mr. Borgerson “with affordable housing being such a challenge for the average person the credit union was happy to participate in the Equity Builder Program and make home ownership possible for two of our members”. Also seen in the picture is Brian Spehar, Sr. Underwriter at FPCU (first from the left) and attorney Joseph Cattoggio (forth from the left), who facilitated the sale of the property.”
